What is Zan DDL? and what happened in Italy?

@ITALIAN_WITH_LUJSA
The Zan DDL is a draft law to strengthen penalties and sanctions for cases of violence and discrimination on the grounds of gender, sex, disability and sexual orientation.
The tightening of penalties would serve to better protect these people.

And here the debate opens: those who support the Zan DDL believe that legislative intervention is needed. Those who oppose it argue that Italy's constitutional and regulatory system already condemns violence. Therefore, a tightening of the rules would be inappropriate. Zan DDL intervenes on already existing articles of the penal code and calls for their modification.

What are Italians like? Clearly, most Italians are not racist, but unfortunately, cases of violence have increased.

But above all, what has happened in the Italian Parliament? A rather shameful scene that I think has gone around the world. The disgraceful way in which our parliamentarians cheered when the Zan DDL did not pass.

Booing and applause similar to that you was here and a stadium.

A law, which has been in force for years in many countries around the world, has not been passed, and this has taken Italy back to the Middle Ages.
